Aurora Proposing Unfair Tattoo Ordinances

                             WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT

The City of Aurora is proposing tattoo ordinances that will require a tattoo parlor to have a physician on call.  Alderman Rick Lawrence, 4th Ward, wants Aurora to mandate a doctor on premises, instead of just on call, like in Naperville.

This would be a de facto ban on all Aurora Tattoo shops.  The city admitted that they took the ordinance requiring a physician on call from North Aurora.  They also admit North Aurora has no Tattoo Shops.  Naperville also has no Tattoo shops.

We are a legitimate tattoo shop in the city of Aurora.  We are licensed with the State of Illinois and comply with all Health Department Regulations.  We are not performing any medical procedures just awesome art work.

Neither the State of Illinois nor the Health Department requires a Doctor to be involved with a Tattoo shop. We are being discriminated against by a city council with many aldermen that openly admitted they are not tattoo friendly.

Under the proposed rules we as Tattoo shop owners would not be able to transfer our license to a new location or sell our business and transfer the license to a new owner.  Our license would be gone and the city would then decrease the number of tattoo license by one until they get down to only two.

They also want all tattoo shops to close at 10:00 pm and not allow us to complete any tattoos that are currently being performed.  As customers you have the right to receive the best artwork.  You have a right to have a completed tattoo.

Please contact and e-mail your alderman and the Mayor.  Please tell them that you do not agree with the above licensing ordinances.  If you love your tattoo shop and you want the right to get tattooed in the city of Aurora they need to hear your voice.

We need all you proud tattoo wearing people to stand up for your right to get tattooed and help support your favorite Aurora tattoo shop.
